Bernie Najar has dedicated his career to promoting the game of golf through his instruction services. Since 1988, Bernie has worked with some of the game's top instructors on improving his knowledge of the game, his playing skills, and his ability to teach a wide range of golfers. Some of the teachers he has spent time with include David Leadbetter, John Redman, Wayne DeFrancesco, Jim McLean, Mac O'Grady, Mike Bender, Tom Jenkins, Fred Griffin, Bob Toski, Jim Flick,
Mike Malaska, Jim Hardy, and Mike Labauve.
Along with his instructional background, Bernie spends a great deal of time learning about physical factors that influence the swing so he can help a wide range of golfers with their technique. Some of the fitness experts he has spent time with include Chris Verna, Pete Draovitch, Dr. Greg Rose, and M.A.T specialist Charlie McMillin.

Since turning professional in 1994, Bernie has given lessons to a wide variety of golfers, including 1998 Maryland Open Champion Keith Unikel, a number of PGA professionals, and Thomas Blankvoort who is a featured contestant on the Golf Channel's BIG BREAK 4 SERIES.
As an instructor, Bernie works hard to help all of his students understand their swing tendencies, and how to make the most of their practice time. Bernie enjoys working with players of all skill levels, and personalizes programs for each individual based on their needs and goals.
Bernie uses video and computer motion capture software to accelerate the learning process. Along with this he uses a variety of training aids to help students feel the proper movements in their swings to practice more effectively. Bernie has recently added a launch monitor to his instruction service for club fittings, and power programs. With the launch monitor, Bernie helps his students understand their launch conditions for proper club fitting and for developing additional power in their swings.
In 2003, Bernie was a featured presenter at the MAPGA Teaching and Coaching Summit on "Advanced Teaching Techniques" and was named the 2004 MID-ATLANTIC PGA Teacher of the Year.
As a player, Bernie had his best year competing in tournaments in 2003. His season was highlighted by tying for medalist at the MAPGA Match Play Qualifier, and winning the Invicta Pro-Series Invitational at Bull Run with an 8-under par 64. In 2004, Bernie won the Bethesda Country Club Pro-Member with a 2-under par 68, and shot a 9-under par 63 for his career low score in the final round of the Taylormade Invitational in Puerto Vallerta, Mexico.
Bernie is available for golf instruction and a variety club fitting services at Woodholme Country Club in Baltimore MD.
